I'm disgusted and disappointed that @AbigailShrier's book was removed from Target's website. This bullshit keeps on happening, and I'm really over it. Are we really going to sit back and allow woke activists to cancel the careers of women and impact their book sales?

Thread.
On October 16th, as you may have heard, a French teacher named Samuel Paty was beheaded after showing Charlie Hebdo cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed to his students. He was teaching his students about the importance of free speech.
Paty was sensitive to the feelings of his Muslim students, and even offered them the option of leaving the classroom if they found the discussion too much to handle, or if they were offended. But none of that mattered to the young Muslim extremist who beheaded Paty.
Because what Paty did was, in his eyes, blasphemy, and that is a crime that is punishable by death. It doesn't matter if you subscribe to the faith or not. Whether you are a believer or not, that is a crime that is punishable by death.

Does this sound familiar to you?
Woke activists harp on about free speech until it impacts them and something that they believe in and are passionate about. In the face of such horror, we should all be advocating for free speech, not against it.
Even progressive politicians such as Justin Troudeau of Canada refused to denounce the horrific act that ended Paty's life & take a strong position in favour of free speech. When asked he finally said that "while freedom of expression is all fine and good, there must be limits."
So is this it then? Freedom of expression is okay as long as you follow the rules, toe the line, colour inside the lines, and never ever go against what the majority wants. Never ever express a different point of view. Never ever be different in any way, shape, or form.
Is this fair? Is this fair to place responsibility on those causing ‘offense’, instead of placing it where it belongs: on those who violently silence opinions they don’t like? Because that's what the world has come to.
"We owe it to ourselves to act with respect for others and to seek not to arbitrarily or unnecessarily injure those with whom we are sharing a society and a planet," Trudeau argued.
"In a pluralistic, diverse and respectful society like ours, we must be aware of the impact of our words, of our actions on others, particularly these communities and populations who still experience enormous discrimination."
But what happens when it is these very communities who impact others? What happens when the truly marginalised community of women are the ones at risk from these so-called discriminated against? What happens when the supposedly marginalised ruin the careers and lives of women?
A friend recently told me that 'freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences'. Is this the reality now? Because it's too late for Paty. It's too late for Gillian Philip. It's impacting Abigail Shrier right now.
And it's too late for any number of women whose lives have been adversely impacted by the woke's toxic cancel culture.
Words like ‘violence’, ‘hate’ and ‘harm’ are used far too often now, and they always refer to feelings and possibilities rather than what is happening in actuality. Who is truly being harmed? People like Paty and Gillian Philip. People like Abigail Shrier. People like 'terfs'.
We're all so used to seeing 'Kill TERFS' thrown at us at every single opportunity that none of us even bat an eyelid anymore. It's become so commonplace to threaten us with violence, simply because we ask questions and disagree with the gender cultists who believe that...
... silencing us with violence, rape, and death is perfectly acceptable. Bizarre and hypocritical, isn't it, when it comes from a community that is apparently "powerless" and "the most marginalised" in society.
And we find bullshit like this. Look at this. "Oh it's okay that this has happened to her, she's just a TERF."

Really? What about her rights? What about her hard work? What about the fact that you're advocating harm against a woman? https://twitter.com/nolab123/status/1327414996330971136
Just because we disagree with gender ideology, fight against legislation that puts a child's body on the line and advocates for them to take testosterone treatments and puberty blockers when they're too young to understand the long-term effects of their decisions...
...and fight for the safety of women and women's only spaces doesn't mean that you get to silence us. You can't. You can try, but we're not going anywhere. And the longer you keep up with your hypocrisy and your threats, the louder we're going to get.
That's the thing about free speech. It's for everyone, not just for you.
