For me, the debate of a Lewis Hamilton knighthood officially ends. Whether it be an argument of achievement, sporting pedigree, work to bridge the gap for race equality, tax - it’s over.
The argument of F1 not being a sport that should be recognised for this ends, especially when you compare his career to the likes of SIR Jackie Stewart etc. The physical demands of this sport are so undervalued. A win in ALL 14 seasons he’s competed in, not ALWAYS in the best car
A now top 5000 tax payer in the UK, the “tax” debate ends. Having sold his jet, the “hypocrisy” debate ends. He’s outwardly spoken out about racial inequality and the human rights records of the countries F1 races at. Anything you can argue against, he has ended that debate.
I know for a fact some will say he’s created “more division”. If trying to end a race war is creating more division in your eyes then it shows either a complete lack of understanding for the situation or the desire to sweep it under the rug. Improvement requires discussion.
My final tweet in this thread is to say fuck The S*n and fuck the Daily Mail, that will be all.
