You mentioned me in this thread, so let me make a few comments on the points you raised in further pursuit of the introspection and objectivity I know you and a few others I know seek.

1. The leading lights of #EndSARS #EndSARS cannot be fairly accused of any failings... https://twitter.com/drolusesan/status/1327905155900186625
...beyond, perhaps failing to go to the table at the point of acceptance of demands. Yet, u can’t really blame them given the huge trust deficit between us the people & governments; this govt in particular. They pulled back moment things went seriously south from early on of 20th
culminating in the formal statement calling a ‘stand down’ of the protest.

Even then they continued with legal representation for detainees, ambulances & blood for wounded, and care of the traumatized.

I have nothing but respect for them! Was simply awesomely heart warming.
Ur quote: “we won't be in this vicious cycle of unending hatred if #EndSARS  lead players immediately pulled back in empathy, seeing that people's livelihood is what we are seeing, going up in flames, even if the peaceful protest is on a separate path,” might then be uncharitable.
2. Nobody likes silly conspiracy theories, but I inevitably find myself propounding some, given facts before me. We saw thugs imported in busses into Abuja, directed by suited men in Prados and Range Rovers.
Will it be a conspiracy theory that government somehow is implicated in the mayhem in Lagos?

Till date, government hasn’t deemed it needful to address the thuggery in Abuja. What we saw was a spectacle of a whole DIG coming to receive some louts threatening fire on protesters.
We saw Northern leaders repair into their conclave in Kaduna, in the presence of the CoS, came out with such pitiable communique alleging a Trump like divisive conspiracy against the North & regime change attempt without any single shred of evidence!
Spent the morning reading Gen Taiwo’s evidence at the Lagos panel yesterday. He insists blank shots were fired & no one died. I’m tempted to believe, ‘cause of his earnestness. So who fired the shots of the flowing blood we saw on separate livestreams. Black Ops? 5th columnists?
Would seem government has been less than forthcoming in the matter of Lekki. Science hates vacuums so does life.

Theories must arise.

I never believed for once that all Lagos mayhem was hoodlums looting.

3. Access Bank. Doubt anyone wants to bring them or any other bank down.
But the banks have failed to stand up to CBN’s ‘account freezing’ bullying and illegality.

Now, in retail banking environment, where customer is king, it’s only right the bank gets a little taste of people power through quarterly target failure from a customer picket campaign.
Finally, this government has been too laid back and lackadaisical to the point of incompetence.

Can you blame anyone for reading conspiracy theories into the current security vacuum that exists all over the SW?

I rest awhile.
