I’m gonna do a No Nuance November thread on here bc no one watched my tik tok 👍🏽
1. Anti-Blackness is the main cause of division amongst every POC community.
2. “Cancelling” people does not work and it has made almost everyones mental health worse over the past decade.
3. Material conditions (such as class and location) can make people more susceptible to cancelling. Like it or not people are still ignorant.
4. The internet is a hyper-moral bubble used to distract people from making real change. Case in point: BLM (the government has barely listened and communicating with them has gotten harder since)
5. While you are a teenager your brain is still developing, cancelling people for stuff they said when they were 10-16 makes no sense.
6. Obesity is often fuelled by the lack of choice and time.
7. The alt-right pipeline is an EXTREMELY dangerous and accessible thing for kids (specifically young white teens) on the internet and it has to be adressed.
8. Every problem that exists for men (whether its systematic or social) exists because of the patriarchy.
9. Working should not be the main thing fuelling your survival.
10. The government don’t care about mental health at all and they have proved it by switching the responsibility onto people with the whole “Check on your friends” slogan.
11. The white liberal has been the downfall of any systematic change that people have tried to put in place. Liberal “activism” has ruined the main goal of almost every movement.
12. “Self hating” black people should not be cancelled or commented on by non black people. It is a devastating result of mainstream anti-blackness. For example (if it were true) the Doja Cat situation.
13. Wanting to be a stay at home wife or wanting to take care of your husband is not anti-feminist so long as you do not degrade yourself or other women. This should go without saying.
14. People can grow. I don’t know why it has become less acceptable for this to occur but true and honest growth is one of the most important and productive things for real change.
15. Black teens who grow up without black friends can develop self esteem issues quite easily. Specifically surrounding their blackness.
