Funding to help tackle the nature & climate crisis is welcome. However, with nearly half of species in decline in the UK, Government must realise the colossal scale of the task & listen to calls for additional £1 billion investment a year

Investment in nature is crucial if we want to build a stronger, greener economy. Additional investment must be part of the upcoming Comprehensive Spending Review - it is desperately needed to kickstart a decade of action for nature
Our Chief Executive @CraigBennett3 says: "The Government seems to believe that there is more land protected for nature than is the case. National Parks and AONBs are not wildlife designations..."
"Our Sites of Special Scientific Interest are supposed to be protected for nature, but even around half of these are in a poor state and threatened by new developments. This means less than 5% of land is in a good state for nature."
"To reach 30% by 2030, we need to rescue the wildlife sites currently in decline, while also making much more space for nature. We need a new Wildbelt designation that puts nature in recovery." @CraigBennett3
