Please don’t take pictures of people experiencing homelessness without their consent. While it may be well intended to highlight the state of how bad things are, you have no idea what the person’s situation is, or whether sharing their image online is going to put them at risk.
People may be leaving abusive situations, they may be at risk of deportation, or many, many other reasons. But also being homeless can be a deeply traumatic time, imagine unexpectedly coming across images of yourself online, or friends & family coming across your image online
Ask before taking or sharing photos. Even ones where you see a side image, or the back of the person because people are still recognisable to those who know them from these images. No photos of people experiencing homelessness should ever be shared without consent.
