Friendly reminder that The Rise of Skywalker isn't just a shitty movie; it's a confrontationally misogynistic, racist, and homophobic movie
It reduced the first main female POC character in a Star Wars movie from being one of the main protagonists, to a character with ~76 seconds of screentime, because a few racist and misogynistic people complained about her online
It praised itself for its "historical" lgbt+ representation, which was 2 women kissing in a shot for about 1 second, and it was designed to be easily cut out from less accepting audiences
It told us that Rey needed to earn Luke's lightsaber, one that she had already earned, even though she had a bad relationship with Luke and didn't really value his opinion; it also made her own power and strength into something that she instead inherited from a man
It made Poe's character into the Star Wars equivalent of a drug dealer, a common casting stereotype for Latinx people, that Oscar Isaac himself was thankful to not be cast as in TFA

It also gave Poe an unnecessary straight relationship, that served no function to the story, and was seemingly done just to shut down people who wanted to see Finn and Poe as a couple (they got rid of all of Finn's potential romances for no reason)
While we're on Finn, the poor handling and colourblind treatment of his character throughout this movie (and TFA) left so many BIPOC fans disappointed and upset, making him force sensitive was a last minute decision that they had to confirm in an interview
There are so many other things that can and should be pointed out about how this movie was made by bigoted, hateful people, who simply wanted to make a money grabbing, crowd pleasing movie, and they failed to even do that
