I'm not seeing universal admonitions from the establishment of the Proud Boys about how violence doesn't solve things.
The establishment operates from pre-determined racist white supremacist-coddling narratives. They never deviate. No matter WHO is actually killing ppl, no matter WHO is ACTUALLY being terrorized, only one side ever has to be lectured about violence.
That's how you end up with white supremacists literally killing ppl but ppl still framing property damage as the only "violence" that they need to be concerned abt.
Much like y'all, I came to understood after Sandy Hook that white America cares more about the maintenance of white supremacy than their own literal survival. I will never comprehend the utter depravity in that. Ever.
Depravity is the only way to begin to frame this. It is deep and abiding and monstrous.
And it's like...banal? It's just who they are. And they pretend that they aren't that way and they pretend that being seen as racist is "the worst thing" that could happen to them but utter bullshit. They are AWARE of the shit they're trying (unsuccessfully) to conceal.
IOW their shit isn't "unconscious bias" or whatever the fuck. They are fully cognizant of it.
They're SO aware that they devote energy to silencing ALL useful or honest discussions abt this. They just go through the motions, make gestures, but stop short of fully acknowledging our humanity AND actively working to stomp out white supremacy.
All this fucking destruction being wrought by all these white Americans pushing for fascism, and the most the establishment can muster is a pitiful ass "let's try to understand them." Then turn around and lecture us abt a broken fucking window.
