One month ago, I tried to have a conversation with a Trump supporter here in Yuma, Arizona... "trying to be open minded." Who is this person with all these Trump signs on their property?

Trumpee: what do you think of the coronavirus?
Me: I'm an ER doctor it's very serious

Trumpee: I think the pandemic is overblown
Me: do you know anyone who has COVID?
Trumpee: No
Me: 20,000 people died in 10 weeks in NYC. I had to call 2-3 loved ones per shift and deliver bad news. Just to let you know I'm kind of an expert in this

Trumpee: Fox says it's all old people (She was an elderly woman)
Me: There are many people under the age of 50.
Trumpee: all of them have comorbidities
Me: everyone in America has a comorbidity- many are obese or have high blood pressure

Trumpee: well the flu kills people
Me: COVID is 10x deadlier than the flu and causes blood clots resulting in strokes and pulmonary embolisms
Trumpee: well I was a nurse, I grew up in a different time with polio & measles and we survived that!
Me: ??? well there are a lot of patients hospitalized here with COVID

Trumpee: Mexicans right!
Me: no ... everyone gets COVID!

That's when I broke off the conversation.
