Just now, I watched a clip of AG Barr hoist himself up to the podium, as the anchor on MSNBC discussed how “unprecedented” it is that 16 AUSAs have stepped forward and asked him to rescind the memorandum calling for an investigation of election fraud and irregularities.
Impeded by nothing so much as his own girth, the man is a dinosaur, his calculating blue eyes gazing out without so much as an eyelash of remorse as he offers up the soul of this nation to buy a little more time in the most transparent display of CYA Americans have ever seen.
I am irate. But, my beef isn’t with AG Barr, this evening. My rage is directed at the 73 million Americans who voted to keep AG Barr—and the man he works for—as a steward of this, our republic.
Donald Trump has courted the world’s most notorious autocrats, while calling our own veterans “stupid.” He rolled back carefully enacted legislation designed to protect against climate change, because to him, doing his boys a favor is far more lucrative than preserving the planet
He has called Neo-Nazis “good people,” stuttered when asked to denounce white supremacists, openly encouraged violence against not just American citizens, but the governor of Michigan.
He holds a Bible up as a grotesque commercial for those only too willing to trade their integrity for a reversal of Roe v. Wade, the unveiled pretext for the restoration of white, male dominance over a woman’s body.
And how can we possibly forget on this day—w/ over 157k diagnosed with COVID—a disease he called a “hoax,” that he's weaponized a deadly pandemic for political leverage as he continues to execute a kind of human arbitrage that results in the actual extermination of American lives
And as if that weren’t enough, now you have the temerity to come in here and tell me MY VOTE WAS A PRODUCT OF FRAUD? YOU—YOU--YOU WHO SUPPORTS A MAN WHO CAN’T SAY 10 WORDS WITHOUT LYING TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE—YOU HAVE THE PRESUMPTION TO TRY AND TELL ME MY VOTE IS A LIE?
I’m sitting here watching AG Barr take a GD crowbar to the very pillars of democracy and YOU HAVE THE GALL TO “PROTEST” OVER FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS? You know what? I’m tired of being nice, I’m tired of being compassionate, I’m tired of being kind, I’m tired of being empathetic.
I’m throwing every available resource I have at Georgia, I’m going to hurl my “calm” voice above the fray even if it’s rattling and ugly, and I’m not going to shut up until all 73 million of you are held accountable for betraying our nation, betraying me.
