Shido is responsible for the death of Akira's parents but when he sees that he's also responsible with ruining Goro's entire life he's more than willing to compromise his revenge plan and basically do whatever Goro wants to do
Also, catch Akira low-key protecting Goro everywhere he goes, even though boy clearly does not need it. But it's so obvious many of the shitty people in Shido's circle lust after him, he always appears behind his shoulder sooner than later, shooting them cold glances.
Goro is just real pissed bc he's dying to be given the chance to deck one of those fuckers lol, but Akira always scares them off too soon.
Goro somehow manages to convince himself he's just using Akira to further his plan, much like he did with his own father albeit on a different way, but all that eventually crumbles when they part ways and all he does is crave his presence.
But how long is it after their deal is over when they meet again? Depends on Goro alone. After all, he's got a lot of things to think through, has to decide how he feels about Akira allowing their relationship to happen, maybe it takes him years. But Akira is patient.
