So, my family member now has an appointment for tomorrow for a regular test (PCR) at a random private urgent care center. Turnaround time unknown. And a rapid test at the public location at Wickford Train Station Wednesday, in case their regular test results aren't back by then. https://twitter.com/ethangy/status/1327724885704110080
Evidence of the surge in cases is obvious based on unavailability of test times even for symptomatic patients. I am really disappointed in RIDOH's organization. Nothing is more streamlined or organized than several months ago.
All the five or six public sites booked out for days - earliest Wednesday. Including for symptomatic. And RIDOH just has a Google Sheet of private clinics but doesn't specify whether they do rapid tests or not. You're on your own to call around.
The one private clinic that had weekend hours I got a hold of that does rapid tests said they didn't know their own availability, and to check their website. The website says they're booked through Thanksgiving.
It dawns on me that the @GovRaimondo administration has spent millions on consultants during COVID. And months later I'm scrolling through a Google Sheet.
Oh, and by the way - RIDOH's COVID hotline shuts down at 4pm on the weekend, @GovRaimondo. Seriously? (You can press a number for an on-call service after hours.)
