The other thing that stands out is the constant, obvious bad faith in these letters. People claiming to be "lifelong" liberals, or that a liberal was rude to them once and that's why they vote Trump. Anyone from the bible belt recognizes these obvious lies for what they are.
The "the left wing is out of control" bullshit is particularly rich. Unbelievable that someone could not think the huge presence of QAnon and nazis among Republican ranks tars the GOP, but a rando protester shouting Defund The Police represents Joe Biden.
They are lying.

I would give anything for major newspapers to hire people who actually grew up around these people -- and no, someone who attended private schools in Dallas and then bounced to Boston at 17 don't count -- and can recognize the bullshit immediately.
