White people intending to ensure dominance for white people invaded territory that was already occupied. White people have used religion over time to assist them in controlling those they deem as inferior. They use religion to justify heinous acts. (2/5)
White supremacy has created the reality of the initial statement “it’s incumbent on us understanding them, not them understanding us”. White supremacy is the reason why there’s this absurd expectation that we must understand them while they don’t understand us.(3/5)
White supremacy is also why they hold themselves to different standards from us. From the moment they established roots on stolen land, they’ve understood that they can’t have dominance over people they deem inferior if they don’t hold themselves to different standards. (4/5)
All of this adds up to a huge reason why this piece from the LA Times is garbage and why white people pushing for Biden/Harris supporters to “reach out” to Trump supporters are showing a lack of comprehension and awareness. (5/5)
