Mark is one of the few humans on the Earth who has seen the problem of light pollution from space. His wife, our former AZ-08 representative, Gabrielle Giffords, was a friend of @IDADarkSky during her time in Congress (2007-12) and helped organize some key hearings on the issue.
So I hope that Sen.-Elect Kelly will be an important voice for the protection of dark skies and nighttime darkness across the U.S. when he takes his Senate seat in early December. We at @IDADarkSky stand ready to help him and his staff on the issue in the 117th Congress.
