/ As @Skers62 aptly points out, a bad snap destroys the timing for a SG run team. He's 100% on the money & it deserves a deeper dive.
/ The great Joe Montana hated playing from the SG because it forced him to take his eyes off the defense in order to catch the snap. This deprived him of precious nano seconds i. Which he could read a defense.
/ a SG (or Pistol) run game requires the QB to read unblocked 1st or 2nd level defenders in those same precious nano seconds after the snap. If the snap is bad, that qb must take his eyes off his read key in order to catch the ball. At that point, the "read" is over.
/ once the read is gone, the guessing begins. This results in dead plays and/or in missed chances for big plays. This happened often in 2019 and it happened today. @damonbenning pointed out 1 play that likely results in a keep and a td with a good snap.
/ anybody who has coached this style of offense or stepped in to demonstrate it to their qb knows how critical a good snap is. In fact, it is as important as any aspect of this offense.
/ im on record many times saying 51 is special and rare at C. Ill defend that belief to anyone. However, if he cannot snap the football with more mundane reliability then he cant play the position in this style of offense.

Rant over.
