Call of Duty Cold War opens with a mission assassinating Iranian agents in Turkey in 1981, and it turns out *gasp* the Iran hostage crisis was all orchestrated by a Soviet secret agent.

CoD just cannot stop itself from making every world crime Russia/USSR's fault retroactively.
Call of Duty also did this revisionism with Modern Warfare last year, making the Highway of Death, where American forces killed ~1,000 Iraqi troops retreating from Kuwait, instead into a Russian crime done against a fictional Middle Eastern nation, but with the same name.
Wouldn't mind this much if Call of Duty didn't hire former US military and intelligence people like Oliver North to consult on their games. He's even in Black Ops II! And he voices himself!
