We're also looking to feature orgs offering experiences/activities (read on...)
(2) Beyond the fab array of indie biz already on the @BuyLeeds lists ( https://www.supportyourlocalindie.co.uk/directory/ ), we're also keen to steer people to buying local activities/experiences. These places are all generating good jobs, keeping ££ in the local economy, + lower carbon than buying stuff...
(3) The following thread is far from exhaustive. We'd love to hear of other #Leeds-owned businesses offering activities/experiences. Also, not all these orgs are set up to offer vouchers / pre-paid products / etc. If so, feel free to simply do DIY IOUs as gifts this #Christmas...
(4) To start, might your loved ones enjoy trying a new sport? Climbing at @CityBloc @TheClimbingLab @CNCLeedsYorks? Skating/boarding/biking/etc @LSTENLeeds @LeedsUrbanBike? Yoga at @LeedsYogaHero @yogaspaceleeds etc? Waterborne stuff with one of the local canoe clubs etc..?
(5) Or how about coffee making/tasting ( @NorthStarRoast + others), foraging ( @eduliswildfood / https://edible-leeds.blogspot.com/ / @MushroomMina), cooking days with @LeedsCookSchool, craft/DIY days with @Oblongleeds @leeds_wood (who also make amazing furniture) + many others, etc..?
(6) Support local indie culture orgs like @HydeParkPH @CottageRoad @CityVarieties. @TheRFteam for kids. Dance orgs like @NorthernSchool @DanceStudioLeed. Indie media like @SouthLeedsLife @WLDispatch (subscriptions available). Green culture via @SkeltonGrange @TCVhollybush. Etc...
(7) Sign up for a walking tour with @LeedsTours. Beauty treatments / spas (not my area of expertise: anyone?). The list goes on: please chip in with more recommendations. And please #BuyLeeds this #Christmas, for a more vibrant + human city economy + culture. Cheers all.
PS: It'd also be great to extend this geographically, eg #Garforth ( @CloCoffee_ @cllrmarkdobson @garforthtoday?). And of course, south #Leeds - which has plenty of great indie shops + orgs, but is largely a @Twitter wasteland..! ( @SouthLeedsLife @BasementArtsPro @Wayne_Dixon)
