Fire crackers bursting going full on. You can't stop traditions through ridiculous diktats. Also, you won't be taken seriously if you target 2-3 days in the year and ignore the remaining days wrt pollution of any kind.
Hypocrisy doesn't help if one is trying to save mother earth. If crackers pollute on Diwali, they do so on new year's eve, election victories, marriages, sports,...basically whenever you burst them. Also, the environmental impact of other festivals. https://twitter.com/semubhatt/status/1062741433000566784?s=19
And meat, the major culprit. But dare we utter beef ban even for the sake of the environment! https://twitter.com/semubhatt/status/1160757709999935489?s=19
Opposing firecrackers just on Diwali or lecturing on water wastage just on Holi, hardly helps if the rest of the days & rest of the ppl do little for the environment. Long lasting impact requires lifestyle change in billions, including food/travel habits. https://twitter.com/semubhatt/status/792793375804100610?s=19
