Sixty years ago, Ruby Bridges stepped into Frantz Elementary in New Orleans, she became the first student to desegregate New Orleans schools. This brave little girl stepped through those doors with confidence. When people tell you that racism is dead, remember Ms.Bridges is 66.
Ms. Bridges has spent her life fighting.
Only one teacher volunteered to teach Ruby, Barbara Henry. This in an ally. Mrs. Henry was willing to sacrifice to teach.
People want to say that present day isn't the America they know. Lies. America was always a bigoted, hateful nation. You just didn't care to look. So, when Ruby took those strides, those forward steps for all of us, that share skin tone and burden of dealing with hate.
For the "I'm not my ancestors" crew: You're correct.

None of y'all trifling, phony, fake wake woke bastards could ever muster the internal fortitude as this six year old girl.
