We’re 3 months into the school year & the thing that students have taught us again is that they’re way more community minded & selfless than adults. They want to be in school & want to be in activities. So they’ve worn masks. They’ve come to school 2 or 3 days a week. They’ve
done whatever we’ve asked them to do, most of the time without complaining. They sacrificed last spring. Now we’re asking them to sacrifice the winter. All because as adults we can’t do the things that we’re asking them to do. If you can’t sacrifice your bar time because that
5:10 drink is more important than keeping kids in school & activities than we have way more pressing issues than slowing the spread of Covid. I’m disgusted with where we are at as a state & I’m sick of the “individual responsibility” crap.
We are a state/country of selfish morons. That’s a statement of fact more so than anything else. Your individual responsibility has gotten us to a point as a state where hospitals are full, doctors/nurses are stressed & overworked, schools are closed & activities are canceled.
These will be my last tweets on the topic because it’s honestly too infuriating to keep going. But good lord, as adults think what we’re asking our kids to do while we expect to keep doing the things we’ve always done. It’s honestly maddening.
