I know this may piss people off but I have Covid so I need to celebrate the little things:

The first short story I ever wrote and the first place I ever submitted it to just accepted it.

I feel like I have defied publishing odds to the highest level possible. WHAT THE CRAP
This acceptance is in my inbox after nearly A WHOLE YEAR AFTER SUBMISSION.

I had given up on it and started getting acceptances on other works since then.

I never imagined the first one would pop back into my life. This is insane.
Another fun fact about this story:

I had a few people in a critique group I really respected tell me they hated it.

It got to me for a moment. Then I decided to not listen to them.
