The Historical Racial Divide in UK Hip Hop let's talk about it...

There's a cool vlogger called #CanadaDadReacts who has been doing some very good videos to "UK Hip Hop".

I first learned about him when he reacted to my Bro @phoenixdafire landmark
Posse track "Expendables"
I'm on Expendables with many other Emcees. It's the first song In recent memories which seems to blend these divisions. It's a dope!

Very rarely spoken on is the massive divide in UK Hip Hop which stems along racial, geographical and culture lines.
I've seen my Bros @NovarFLIP & Ben talk about it over the years in different context. I rate them as it's something I don't think is spoken on as much as it should.

Me & @RiggaRomez as young Emcees travelling from New Cross to Camden Hip Hop jams definitely felt that divsion 💯
As I'm seeing #CanadaDadReacts channel grow, he's a cool dude, true Hip Hop head and just loving the scene which I love.
It made me think of Historical context when people are telling him what's "UK Hip Hop". It's highlights these racial division lines Are you British enough?
On basic terms in titles I don't really agree with it can range from "Nerdy back pack Rap" "Spiritual conscious Rap" "Street Rap" etc.

I love it all!!

From young I noticed how UK HH media would talk about Mud Fam, Task force, Low Life different to 57th Dynasy, Moorish Delta
If you wasn't in Mud Fam, Task Force, Low Life, YNR its almost like your British Hip Hop ness was questioned. Which is Mad cause I loved & played Those artist alot.

I did relate more to 57th Dynasty , Moorish Delta than the above cause what they spoke about. But I loved it all!
To throw a creative spanner in the works 😂😁 my favourite Crew to this day is Outdaville a mixed raced crew from Nottingham who amazed me.

I played Big P and Skeme, records next to Jehst and my Bro @TommyA_ManEvans. Tommy to this day is a good Homie who taught me so much
I definitely had previously closed doors from UK Hip Hop media open to me when they saw I was working with my Bro Tommy.

Our Elite - Team, Phone Home Ep release on my label in 2004 got a higher review on @ukhhdotcom than in Undercover magazine by @nikeshshukla the same reviewer
Yamboy /Nikesh was a Deep passionate music fan. When he interviewed me and @RiggaRomez in person for @ukhhdotcom I asked him.

He said the editors at Undercover Magazine wouldn't allow him to give us a 4 out of 5 which he gave on UKHH website because Undercover didn't know us
Do you know what a 4 out 5 review in Undercover Magazine (which was in all major retail stores) to a team of 19, 18 year olds who run their own label would have meant to us?

Our PR agent and deep friend to this day @darklingdami was already doing magic for us so it didn't matter
Any way I digress. As I'm watching #CanadaDadReacts channel grow and loving his passion. I'm seeing the comments suggesting "UK Hip Hop" supreme Britishness championing High Focus, Blah etc

In the same way Low Life, YNR, were pushed as the epitome of UK Hip Hop to me as Yute
I love it all. Im writing this message chilling in Barbados where I bop to the shop blasting Task Force - Jelly Fish Kiss on my phone or Outdaville Westwood freestyles same time reciting Terrafirma and K Lash quotables while getting sour sop and Mango leaves from the trees
I been out the scene for nearly 10 years I've dabbled but not fully. I've been running a Visual company working with Brands, Charities, Artist.
So to see these same narratives still present & underlying energy.
It still seems
Your not "UK Hip Hop" enough if your not......White.
