The Irish Press editorial on John Maynard Keynes "National Self-Sufficiency" lecture at UCD in 1933: "Mr Keynes' words show how unwise men can be when they speak on countries with economics that they do not fully understand".
That Keynes *opposed* self-sufficiency/protectionism in that article is entirely the opposite of how most people read it! But there were caveats at the end of the lecture (at least for Ireland's economic ties with Britain). https://www.jstor.org/stable/30094997?seq=1

The only letter in Irish newspapers after Keynes's "National Self Sufficiency" lecture was about town planning. The author managed to get it published in the Irish Independent, Irish Press, and Irish Times!
