Some years ago, when Obama started his attacks on Libya, I told someone on this app that this has nothing to do with democracy. And even if we are to talk about democracy Libya practices it in its essence as use of resources from government is decided by community leaders.
This person, drunk on media propaganda & perhaps on that inflated Obama personality, which makes it seem he can do no wrong, said Gaddafi was autocratic

How? I asked. He's been in power too long. She said. I said the Queen has been in power for ever. She said it doesn't matter
We should give democracy a chance. It is the best form of governance, bla bla. I reminded her of Iraq. She said, but we can't use that as justification.

I stopped arguing. Fast forward & Gaddafi was killed. The region descended into turmoil. Fighters moved to Mali and Burkina
At a point, Ghana was on list of potential attack. Libya is now failed state. Western countries have appropriated their oil. A country, the only country, that had budget surplus is now borrowing from Bretton Woods institutions. The entire region is now in turmoil.
All I'm saying is be careful of propaganda by news media (foreign and local). It is easy to think that the stand you've taken was arrived at by your own cognition. Most often, you've been influenced, unknowingly.
America's actions are influenced by its Foreign Policy interest, whose ultimate goal is the economic interest of its corporations.

Democracy is just a guise. Saudi Arabia is a MAJOR trade partner to the US. They are a monarchy & every American president succumb to their needs.
