Been disappointed with @HLLLifecare as this pandemic has progressed. They have simply not stepped up.
They could so easily have set up a robust online platform for hospitals/patients to buy PPE and medical masks with material composition info (not just the test certificate)
This is where PSU culture fails us. 8 months on, HLL could also have integrated with GeM for public hospitals to procure masks and PPE of standardised quality and material .
Instead,we have govt officers going to factories and deciding selling price based on marginal costing.🙄
Then you have "health" journalists lecture firms and hospitals on overcharging. I've no doubt some do but all get tarred. See masks. There's a difference between spun bond and melt blown and even where it comes from and yet all masks are to be priced equally. How is it possible.
We are exporting PPE now . Find me a report that details what quality of PPE is being exported, for what application and at what price.
The answers might be instructive.
Not all N95 masks are the same and 3M itself , among the largest producers, has 24 variants. Anyone checked which of these is a)being 'produced' here b) being imported here.
It's fine to regulate the sale of a critical item but govts would do well to regulate smartly.
