Ok I need to someone to tell me I’m misunderstanding BCs COVID data right now. Because if I’m not misunderstanding, *everything* should be closed.

Please tell me I’m overreacting.

This figure shows testing rate and positivity rate across age categories and throughout the pandemic.

For little kids the testing rate has plummeted and the positivity rate has soared. Over 5 percent now for under-tens
I recall Dr Henry saying not to worry about kids because their positivity rate was low and none died yet

So let’s set aside unknowable complications and focus on positivity rate. That figure above is province wide - meaning here in Fraser South it’s probably way worse
In fact just yesterday they presented this, showing a 1.7% positivity rate, with data that went up to a week ago.

So in *one week* the positivity rate almost tripled???
For that matter why, later in that same presentation do they show data with way higher positivity rates right after the slick infographic that showed low rates?

The only thing I can figure is Dr Henry is presenting some sort of cumulative positivity rate, rather than the current rate.

Which CANT be what’s happening right? Because that’s obviously misleading
well looks like these obscure stats turned into real problems. I fully expect more of this in the coming days. https://twitter.com/CBCtanya/status/1327817384325857280?s=20
