Life thought:

It's okay to admit you have a problem.

Over the past 3-4 years, I have cut out tobacco, caffeine (besides tea), and gambling from my life.

None of them were super easy to quit. Tbh I've only been free from gambling for a little over a month.
Admit you have a problem and surround yourself with people that want to see you succeed.

For Thanksgiving the past few years, a few friends and I get together at the casino and spend time together.

I called one of my friends and told him I was done gambling.
His response?

Oh okay. Looks like we aren't going to go to the casino anymore.

That was it. No extra questions. No extra curiosities about it.

That's true friendship. He couldn't care why I quit, but if I talked to him about it, he knew it must be serious.
Just remember it's okay to admit you have a problem.

You can't work to get over it if you don't admit it to yourself.

You have to take care of yourself and your mental health. It all matters. You matter.
