Ok. Much of the country is probably about to go back in to lockdown (or should). I have 15 years in the retail food business and can help you plan your food shopping so you don't panic buy.

Thread. 1/
1. Don't buy what you don't know how to cook. Don't know how to soak beans? Don't buy'em. This isn't the apocalypse, just tough times.

2. Don't buy what you don't like. Just because it has calories doesn't mean you need it. Yes, tuna is easy, but tuna isn't for everyone.
3. Store brand IS usually the same quality if not even exactly the same as name brand.

4. Learn to cook popcorn on the stove. Easiest cheapest all day snack.

5. There is almost always a sale on block cheese and it is usually worth it.
6. Rice and beans are a complete meal.

7. Best bang for your buck are the cheap hot sauces, those gallon jugs of apple cider vinegar.

8. You will run out of fats faster than you think. (Butter, olive oil, veg oil.
9. Endcap deals (ones at the end of aisles) are often good deals, esp. if from the previous holiday.

10. Find treats that make lots of basic meals feel special- parmesan you grate, capers, pickled onions, nice cheese, a good salami. One delicious bite makes an ok meal, amazing
