Discrimination isn't religious liberty.
I could go on a whole rant about how the refusal of mainline denominations to excommunicate bigots and officially declare bigoted denominations to be heretics and anathema is helping enable the people who claim they have religious freedom to discriminate.
As long as mainline churches and denominations treat bigotry as something where good Christians can disagree and still be Christian, they continue to legitimize bigotry as an inseverable part of people's religious beliefs.
It doesn't matter how much you, I, or anybody else says that these people aren't Christians when the entire denominational structure that we understand to represent Christian orthodoxy continues to treat these bigots as Christians who just disagree over non-essential theology.
