10 Things I Wish I Knew Earlier...

~ A Thread ~
— 1. Don’t delay working out

I always thought:

“Make money first, then I can get in shape later.”

But once I started working out, my mental game got 100x stronger.

The healthier I got, the more energy I had, and the more money I made. It all works together.

HUGE ROI.
— 2. Learn sales

Everything is sales.

Learning how to talk to a complete stranger and convincing them to give you something is an insane skill to have

Even if you don’t want to work in sales

* Job interviews
* Negotiating
* Buying a car

It’s still sales.

Learn it.
— 3. Be selfish

No point trying to feed the entire world if you're starving to death.

The most selfless thing you can do:

Is making sure you feed yourself so you can ACTUALLY help the people around you to the best of your ability.
— 4. Stop building new income streams

I've tried building multiple businesses at once.

It doesn't end well.

Laser focus on ONE thing always beats scarce focus over 4-5 things.
— 5. Don't fight DNA

I spent a while trying to force myself to wake up early

Turns out, I'm a natural night owl. I simply work better at night.

I wish I was an early bird, but I’m just not.

Be self-aware about your natural habits & double down on them.
— 6. Haters vs Real criticism

Learn the difference between the two.

Hater = someone making judgments about your actions rooted in toxicity

Real criticism = Someone giving you actual advice from a place of love, even if it hurts your feelings

Surround yourself with the latter
— 7. Stop lowering your expectations

I used to make less-ambitious goals

Because my ego was terrified of a failure.

This only slows you down.

Most of “achieving big goals” is having the courage to actually set them.
— 8. Diet your mind as much as you diet your gut

People are quick to start counting every calorie they put in their body

But don't notice what they're feeding their BRAIN

- News
- Social media
- Pr0n
etc.

Mental diets are required.
— 9. You don't need to invent anything new

As a kid, I thought I had to come up with some kind of 'earth-shattering' idea to make money.

Turns out, I don't.

Boiled down:

People have problems. Sell them a solution.
— 10. Work fewer hours

3-5 hours of DEEP, high ROI work, beats 10 hours of mindless "work" that doesn’t move the needle.

Identify what times you have the most energy and optimize your day to where you get the most "bang for your buck"
