part of this is just disguised discontent with the underlying thing I said earlier, which is that the more dangerous (at least subjectively) something is to you, the harder it will be to de-platform. because it has an actual audience that is willing to bear switch costs
the other part is that counter-disinfo just seems to be a self-driving thing, its constantly looking for new untapped areas that need moderation. deleting posts isn't enough, you need to deal with people that share archived versions of them
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Rooskies or indigenous disinfo actors have their hooks into Parler, and as a Dem partisan I consider at this point much of conservative infosphere to be systematically corrupt in and of itself
But what I am always aggravated about is just how reflexive and self-sustaining this all is. There is never any point at which it stops, never any point at which someone says "OK, maybe this is going too far"
what does the endgame look like? A large portion of the country has X views, they want places that cater to said views. This is not going to change.
I laughed the other day when I saw stuff about "right-wing misinformation spread via talk radio in Florida." Dude. That could have been a 90s headline!
