Why, yes, the announcement of MLB's first female GM *is* the perfect opportunity to promote my book, BASEBALL'S LEADING LADY, dropping Jan 5.

@britnidlc was SO dope to include the book in their newsletter, but I wanna make the argument that it's not *just* for kids. (thread)
I would argue that the Negro Leagues is one of the most misunderstood aspects of sports history—even among sports fans—and I was super intentional about using Effa's story as a vehicle to tell larger truths about the rise and fall of Black baseball, integration, etc.
I'm biased (ha!) but I think BASEBALL'S LEADING LADY is a great primer for adults who want to learn more about this important era of sports/American history but don't have the time to comb through multiple 400-page tomes.
Also, I try to connect the dots from the past to the present in a way that other Negro Leagues books don't. You wanna know why there still aren't many Black player in MLB? Or why there are even fewer Black coaches and executives? This book will help you understand.
I wrote this book for kids, in hopes that they will learn and become adults that will create a better world.

And I also wrote it for adults trying to understand the current one.
Here's a preorder link. Buy from @ParnassusBooks1, and I'll sign/personalize your book!
