1/ This exercise has been done before, but I wanted to grab a small sample so I could visualize it for myself. I went through the first 40 "Covid deaths" on the Milwaukee Med Examiner website. https://county.milwaukee.gov/EN/Medical-Examiner/Public-Data
2/ As always, @jhaskinscabrera was on the case in Florida. Her analysis did a much more in-depth dive, but I'm convinced the findings in Milwaukee (sample below) would read the same way. https://alachuachronicle.com/death-certificate-review-raises-questions-about-official-number-of-covid-19-deaths/
3/ There’s no scientific data analysis, just consolidating into a spreadsheet. Small sample size listed, but I clicked through over 200 and the theme is the same. There seems to be such a divide between logical analysis of these deaths and simply screaming "230k deaths!"
4/ Again, at the risk of sounding callous, but rational, these are listed as C19 deaths, but many/most are in the final stages of life - very sick. Below are a few that jumped out at me due to age and/or comorbidities. This is how the majority of these reports read.
5/ Both can be true:
1) C19 is real and aggressively attacked the vulnerable in
the spring
2) C19 is profoundly sensationalized
Our main issues are:
1) Pols and ineffective, unscientific, overreaching policy
2) Psychological jail/undue fear from…
3) Total lack of context

6/ How can we add context? It won't be by lobbing grenades at opposing viewpoints. It'll be through a thoughtful information campaign and welcomed open debate. And this narrative has to come from the people, as pols have lost just about all public trust.
Final/ I'm brainstorming ways about to have honest, open debate on this. It's long overdue pulling people together to talk respectfully rather than hide in their social media groupthink silos and attack those that don't agree. Any ideas welcome as well!
