Really enjoyed talking today w/ @worstideas7 and @7AustinL about upcoming IPOs, $DIS, and $FSLY.
But what I'm already hearing a lot about is Roblox's IPO, the popular gaming/social network platform with kids/teens. Relevant discussion starts at 11:30.

And if you're interested, highly recommend following @juliey4. Good part of my research last night was combing through her old posts for insights and bothering her on DMs!
It's so popular w/ kids under the age of 18 w/ both boys and girls, something that might not be terribly important if you're just building a game, but if you're building something more social becomes very important.
In March, Fast Company reported it had more than 100M active users and named Roblox one of the world's most innovative companies. https://www.fastcompany.com/90457674/roblox-most-innovative-companies-2020
With >2M developers, end result is a lot of creative games! Some of these games sound mundane, but that's where social element kicks in. A lot of these games are just ways to hang out in creative virtual environments.

Any user can make games on Roblox Studios using programming language Lua. As mentioned about 2M users have done this or about 2% of its total users. Roblox paid out $100M to developers in 2019. There's a cottage industry developing within Roblox!

Another great description and list of popular games on the platform:
"Roblox isn’t simply another Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) title, it’s a platform that lets its users 'create adventures, play games, roleplay, and learn with friends.'"

On the show, @worstideas7 asked about the protections Roblox offers the children users on its platform. Roblox takes this stuff seriously, offering customizable parental controls, automated clothing control, chat filters, and a robust reporting feature. https://corp.roblox.com/parents/
Oh! Developers expected to get paid about $250M in 2020 on Roblox! h/t @Lizquidity https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2020-07-28-roblox-developers-set-to-earn-usd250-million-in-2020
