There are countless, literally countless examples of Ohio's COVID-19 skeptics (in Statehouse & elsewhere) pointing to the early projections of 6k, 8k, 10k cases per day & urging Ohio to reopen based on us having not hit those numbers.

Today we have. Those projections are here.
I have so many of these I'm not sure where to start. State Sen. Andrew Brenner saying "Clearly the general population is safe from Covid19" and retweeting a message saying "The COVID epidemic is over"
State Rep. J Todd Smith from May: "The projections about the impact of the Covid-19 virus were wildly inaccurate."
April 27: 35 Republican lawmakers sign the Open Ohio Responsibly Framework plan, which says about the concern of overwhelming hospitals/health systems: "In Ohio, we believe we are now past that stage of concern."

Ohio currently is setting records for COVID-19 hospitalizations
A complaint used to be that DeWine 'moved the goal posts.' Example is from Rep. Wiggam on left

Except, it's skeptics who often move the goal posts: after downplaying virus for months, Rep. Powell now explains rise in cases as "normal ebbs and flows" https://www.facebook.com/votejenapowell/posts/760532494579153
The point here isn't to insult lawmakers for guessing wrong. The pandemic has taken twists and turns throughout 2020

But that's exactly the point: this is the result of ignoring experts from the very beginning & spiking the football early. And those who were wrong remain defiant
I should say, *some* remain defiant.

Here's an example of one reversal: on the left is Rep. Dick Stein of Norwalk's Facebook post from May 1. He signed the June "Mission accomplished!" letter.

On the right is a statement his office sent me for my Oct article.
By the way, all this is separate from the other category of wrong predictions involving COVID-19 vs. the Flu. I ran through all of those in the below thread: https://twitter.com/Tylerjoelb/status/1281296381479727106
