Thread 1/8
Bray Youth Service recently asked members about Covid (and other things). 64 young people replied. This word cloud is a summary of the responses to the Question, 'In one word, how do you feel about the pandemic/restrictions now?' #COVID19ireland #youthwork

If anyone is unaware, the larger the word, the more it was used as a response. As is obvious, Anxious, Confused, Stressed and frustrating all stand out. Some words might not make sense but they feature because a few people added full sentences rather than a single word.

YP were also asked to what extent the agreed with a series of statements. You can see from the summaries below that there is concern about the effect on family and restrictions getting worse or lasting longer. But they also found the restrictions a little easier this time
4/8
Although not clear cut, generally the info about restrictions are easy to understand. Importantly they felt the service was supporting them. How they saw the treatment of young people was bit more of a mixed bag however.
5/8
The majority know what to do if they are a close contact of someone with Covid. They very much leaned towards schools opening being unfair. There is a good degree of uncertainty about how strict they felt the restrictions are.
6/8
We asked questions about how they felt they were doing with regard to sticking to wearing masks, maintaining social distance, washing hands and visiting people's houses. They saw themselves as being very compliant. Social distance the category with least compliance.

Many members haven't been able to attend face-to-face sessions due to different reasons. They cited our own restrictions of numbers in buildings, wearing masks, but also that school has become difficult than before.

What it highlights for us, is the need to keep working with our members, to keep contact with those we don't see day to day & to check on their well-being.

We need to keep looking at different ways of engaging young people and to keep providing the best service we can.
