If you want to know if wolves are dangerous, it would be wise to talk to the sheep. If you just ask the wolves, you will conclude that wolves are cuddly and misunderstood and just want love. The sheep, though, might see it differently.
You can respond by rebuking the sheep for being worldly, or cutting them out of the conversation completely, but then don't be surprised when your conclusion about wolves proves to be faulty.
You can ask the eagle or the walrus, and they might not see a problem, either.
