this makes me think of 3 lessons i learned in childhood from my ardently capitalist family:
1. never give money to a homeless person on the street bc you never know what they will spend it on (most likely drugs) - instead donate to an org you trust to give them “real” help

2. pay as little tax as possible bc the govt will waste it - instead keep as much money as possible so you can decide where it goes and what the impact is

& 3. never spend the principal bc this is like killing a goose that lays golden eggs - instead spend only the income produced by the principal so you can go on spending/investing/giving indefinitely
