The inpatient population is different!
In order to to be tested and admitted to a hospital in spring hot spots, you had to be really, really sick...
The death rates in those who convalesced at home were eye-popping.
The cases were also concentrated in a few cities. /

I believe in ICU medicine and am proud of the work that we do. However, #COVID19 is a complex public health problem, our treatments for severe disease can rescue many but the cost is great.
