We are on a roadtrip this morning & want to know, #archaeology friends what was your worst #fieldwork day? I think mine was a project that was muggy & hot, in a dark forest with soO many bugs, & the subsoil was so hard we had to use pickaxes. Bad bad day

I guess my other worst field day was surveying a house in SW ON & having the tenant tell me that a particular room, which was empty, was 'where people used to watch the hangings from', & wouldn't go inside. Also I was alone in the house with him...

Also the basement door was a literal door flat in the floor, which he opened & said he wouldn't go down there with me. I took out my cell phone to make sure I had service while I went in.. It was Not Fun. The basement was full of ancient jars of pickles.
