One thing I always rail about is that people on my team often yell and hector about what the other side "should" do. Progs should stop taxing us! Progs should stop promoting useless college degrees! Progs should do X or Y or Z.

Here's a secret: the other side does what it does for reasons. Maybe those reasons are evil. Maybe they're just dumb. But they make some sort of sense, at least to the people performing the acts.

She's ignoring the fact that they are behaving as they are for REASONS, and unless she has some systemic / procedural way to encourage the correct behavior, nothing will change.
"Outgroup bad!" feels good, but it doesn't _accomplish_ anything.
