The materially unreliable Fraser Institute seeps into everything from Gunter's column in the Edmonton Sun ("public sector employees should be happy with pay cut") to GOA reports. He quotes some stats, I think they were from the Fraser Institute. He doesn't say. #ABLeg
Heck even the KPMG in the MacKinnon report quotes Fraser.

My point is garbage in=garbage out. In their free market zeal enforced by their corporate overlords they make few (if any) data supported conclusions. #ABLeg
Labour economists would tell you that one of the reasons oil and gas jobs are so high paying is because of the cylical nature of the industry. And that employees are paid a market premium for that very reason. #ABLeg
The Fraser Institute study that concludes the AB public sector is 9% overpaid lumps federal, provincial, and municipal employees together.

It supports no conclusion that AB civil service is overpaid. #ABLeg
Even the MacKinnon report finds we have a low cost education system (2nd lowest in cost). And MacKinnon tells JK to get rid of Catholic schools if he wants to be the lowest. #ABLeg
And, remember Travis is the one who turned his nose up at $1.6 billion in savings from continued use of the ATRF as an investment manager. So don't come whining to me about money.

(Half of that would be for the GOA the other for half teachers.) #ABLeg
