Manchester United’s centre backs have been a problem for a while now and with Maguire and Lindelöf both preferring the right side of the defense, they don’t compliment each other. So I’ve looked at some left sided centre backs that could fit us, Benoît Badiashile fits perfectly.

1. WHO IS BENOÎT BADIASHILE?
Benoît Badiashile is a 19 year old left sided centre back playing for AS Monaco. Badiashile is comfortable on the ball despite being 6’4 (same as Maguire) he is great of the ball with his tackles and interceptions and wins a lot of his headers.

2. HIS MAIN ATTRIBUTES AND CONS.
One of Badiashile’s most impressive attributes is pace, despite being so 6’4 Badiashile is super fast that would fit Maguire and Lindelöf. Badiashile wins a lot of his aerial duels winning 71% of them only beat by Maguire 88% in the United squad.

So we would have another threat in the box already having 2 goals in 10 games. 23% of our corners went to Maguire last season so it’s easy to mark him and making him less of a threat but with Badiashile added they would have another threat to think about.
Badiashile performs 1.8 tackles a game winning 75% of them and winning 61% of all his duels. Badiashile is not only good off the ball he is also good on the ball with Badiashile completing 89% of his passes and has dribble rate of a 100% this season, what is just magnificent.
But Badiashile also has his flaws, one of his main cons is his lack of concentration, letting his man go to easily or step out when he shouldn’t be doing it but being only 19 he has a lot of time to improve those things and why not do that at United.
3. WHO WOULD I PARE HIM WITH.
This is just personal preference and I wouldn’t mind any of Maguire, Lindelöf or Tuanzebe.

I would pair Badiashile with Harry Maguire, Maguire is comfortable on the ball and is such a massive threat in the opposition’s box. Scoring twice in his last 7 games for club and country.

This shows how good Badiashile already is and what a talent he is, him also being 19 and only 25 million of worth this could be a steal for United.
4. MY THOUGHTS ON THE SIGNING.
I personally think if we can’t get RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano we should get Badiashile, such a talent and him also being left footed makes it even more interesting, compliments all of our centre backs. Great deal this could be.
