Eliminating abortion access by state has been the anti-abortion playbook for decades. Hundreds and hundreds of state restrictions on abortion passed just in the last 15 years. It’s what the last two major SCOTUS cases re: abortion were about. https://bit.ly/3njAg0E 
In 37 states, young people under the age of 18 have to involve a parent in their abortion decision or else tell all their business to a judge to get “permission” to have an abortion. Like, go all the way to court with a lawyer and everything. https://bit.ly/2L2osAa 
Even where abortion is legal, people have been criminalized for their pregnancy outcomes, for self-managing abortion, and for helping loved ones self-manage abortion.

Fixation on Roe and the “right” to abortion has been a hallmark of the “pro-choice” movement, and it is wholly inadequate — it fails entirely to encompass the reality of abortion access (which is extremely limited). It’s why reproductive justice is the way forward, and has been.
It should not surprise you that the “pro-choice” movement is historically unconcerned with racial justice or intersectional praxis.

Restrictions on abortion access — TRAP laws, criminalization of self-managed abortion, bans on abortion funding, abortion insurance bans, etc. — are deliberately and disproportionately targeted at denying access to care for BIPOC folks, LGBTQ people, and low-income people.

It’s not just about Roe and the right to privacy for wealthy white cis women.
