So to not bug the OP that this convo started from, I have a lot of feelings about Pirates of the Caribbean and how there is exactly 1 mention of slavery in it... kinda.

@yung_foxxii for this convo.
So in 3, the east india trading company dude and Jack have a conversation in bad guy's boat, and there is a deleted scene in there where bad dude says "we had a deal Jack. You were to deliver my cargo and you stole it." To which Jack says "People aren't cargo, mate."

That's it.
It's the only reference to the slave trade and that is a HUGE waste of potential. Will absolutely should have been the son of one of those freed slaves that decided to join Jack's crew, and the Black Pearl should have been famous for raiding slave ships under Jack Sparrow.
But Disney isn't about to touch that with their corporate, sanitized hands.
Oh, and I think there was an interview where fans asked the screenwriters about the 100 souls and the writers confirmed that Jones wanted 100 souls to free Jack because he lost the Pearl in the first place freeing the 100 slaves he was asked to carry.

That's the prequel I want.
