Let’s out a finer point on this. Zero risk is not the goal. Meaningfully mitigated risk is a reasonable end point. The virus isn’t supernatural. We know how to test for it and counsel people about risk. Talk to a (reasonable) doctor and figure it out. Or, stay home. Up to you.
Another example. If grandparents/parents quarantine for a couple of weeks, they can see each other without a test. Lots of my families are doing this so grandparents can come over and help with the new baby right away. Totally reasonable and safe. Throw testing in if you like.
