I received a request to do a tutorial on #Cepstral Peak Prominence. #CPP is one of the most robust #acoustic measures of #voice quality and is super easy to measure with #Praat. See below for step-by-step instructions and a quick video tutorial!
I received a request to do a tutorial on #Cepstral Peak Prominence. #CPP is one of the most robust #acoustic measures of #voice quality and is super easy to measure with #Praat. See below for step-by-step instructions and a quick video tutorial!
First, using #Praat, select the audio sample of interest, such as sustained /a/, the #CAPE-V “we were away a year ago”, or the #RainbowPassage 
Second, select “Analyse periodicity – ” > “To Power Cepstrogram”, and > “OK”
Lastly, select the new file that begins with “PowerCeptrogram”, then select “Query – ” > “Get CPPS…”, and “OK”. The #CPP will get generated in about a minute or less.
