The Post-Civil Rights era has often been characterized as a society of racism without racists. In this vein, the Post-Trump era might be characterized as a society of racists who no longer think racism is racist.
In the Post-Civil Rights era, mainstream views of white supremacy have characterized it as an extremist view located in individual ignorance allowing the majority of white people to be disgusted by overt white supremacy even as they continue to benefit from institutional racism.
Trump has been supported by white supremacist groups. Yet, most of his supporters deny that he or they are racist. That is,not only will they continue to benefit from instutitional racism they aren't even disgusted by overt white supremacy anymore and no longer think it is racist
