It's been 5yrs since Gor Mahia won the 2015 KPL season unbeaten. Our invincible season. Yes, November 2015. Here's my collection of shirts of every player, except one, who scored for us league goals that season. Who's missing? Remember that season? Stay with me. #Sirkal
What motivated me to buy all these shirts? 2015 was a great season. We enjoyed our football. We enjoyed watching Gor Mahia. Even those who pretend to hate Gor Mahia loved our games. We looked invincible. We were invincible. #Sirkal
When we signed Khalid Aucho from Tusker at the beginning of the season I knew we had a proper player right here. Aucho would be the best replacement for Baba Kizito. I bought this shirt after his rocket of a goal against Chemelil at Nyayo. TV stuff. #Sirkal
Possibly the best season in Ali Hassan Abondo's career. We dismissed him as spent cartridge when he re-signed for us in Jan of that year. We didn't know it'd be his season. This shirt is from his solo goal against Sony in our unlikely win in Awendo. #Sirkal
Ali Abondo was really the fulcrum on which our 2015 squad stood. Fielded on the right, he mostly veered to the centre to sip attention and create space for Nzigiyimana to run and deliver those delicious crosses that fed Olunga and Kagere. Our deadball specialist, Abondo the great
2015 was Shakava's first full season as a regular. Won the title mostly on the bench in his debut 2014 season but 2015 he found a formidable partnership with Musa Mohammed. This shirt is from his opening header in our 2-1 against Thika Utd at Kasarani. #Sirkal
Wazza. Jaja. This guy had already made us rethink our view of wingbacks when he arrived in 2014. In 2015 he played more as a forward than a defender coz Sibomana took care of our backleft. This shirt is frm his brace in our 2-1 win against Bandari in Mombasa in August. #Sirkal
Meddie. What a player! Remember that #MashemejiDerby dummy for Abondo goal? Well, his performance at CECAFA? Drop that. Kagere gave Olunga a dependable partnership. Opponents feared us. Kagere would pull some unimaginable moves. He scored some training ground goals. #Sirkal
Remember his 4th goal against Nakuru Allstars at Nyayo? Abondo's throughball, he outraces oncoming keeper, flicks the ball with the inside of his right boot to displace it from the keeper who's by now on the floor, net is beckoning. My order is delivered after the game. #Sirkal
One season wonder that will never be forgotten in our club history. We didn't even know we were signing the best local talent in our recent club history when he came in Jan 2015. Forever grateful for his contribution to us. This was the last shirt I bought that season. #Sirkal
You all remember his show against Chemelil in Kisumu? Scoring all the 4 goals on that day? Recall his long leg runs? Even on days we didn't play our best we had Olunga who would somehow somewhat get us a goal. Forever grateful to the Engineer. #Sirkal
Best player in the world. Innocent Wafula. Which position didn't the great Wafula play? I know y'all remember his CECAFA show, especially that solo goal against Al Khartoum. But you forget it's actually Wafula's goal that won us the league. Remember 1-0 vs Sony at Nyayo? #Sirkal
That game against Sony was a special one. There was this blackout incident in the stadium and fans got out their phones to light up the stadium. We had to win this game by all means. Then Wafula scored. Big player for big games. I had to buy this shirt. #Sirkal
The only other League scorer whose shirt I didn't buy was Enock Agwanda. I was not the biggest fan of Agwanda's when he joined us in the midseason transfer as the only signing of that window. So I didn't get any motivation to buy a shirt with his name on my back. #Sirkal
